We would like to extend an invitation to the IAA’s Tree Planting Ceremony that is set to take place on Thursday, October 2, 2014.

Upon graduation, the IAA class of 2014 donated funds to purchase a tree to be planted on the University of Maryland College Park campus, which was designated as an arboretum and botanical garden in 2008 by the American Association of Public Gardens. The University of Maryland is also the first university in the state to be honored as a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.  So, the Class of 2014 thought it was fitting to commemorate their journey on campus by donating to campus’s green space.

Jake Reeves, a current IAA student, states, “This tree represents our growth in life. As we grow, it will grow as well.”

The ceremony will take place on the east side of Jull Hall from 4 to 4:30 pm. All are welcome to attend as the Class of 2014 plants an apple tree for everyone to enjoy for years to come.
